As the management agency for Global Tech Korea (hereinafter “GTK”), Omni Management Co., Ltd. (hereinafter the “Company”) has established a privacy policy outlined below (hereinafter “Privacy Policy”) to protect users’ personal information and interests in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act and also handle user grievances related to personal information effectively and appropriately.
In case of any revision of this Privacy Policy, GTK shall give public notice thereof through its website.
○ This Privacy Policy shall come into effect on August 16, 2022.
1. Purposes of Processing Personal Information
GTK processes users’ personal information for the following purposes. The personal information so processed is not used for any purposes other than those set out below. In case of changes in the purpose of use thereof, GTK will seek the prior consent of users.
a. To apply for memberships on the GTK home page and verify applicants’ intention to apply; certify members’ identification in connection with the provision of membership-based services; maintain and manage users’ membership status; prevent unauthorized use of services; give notices for various purposes and so forth.
b. To identify applicants for the purpose of dealing with their civil petitions, etc.
c. To provide goods or services, deliver things, provide services, grant access to event venues, dispatch invoices, provide content, identify users, and so forth.
d. To make use of marketing and advertisements, provide new services and customized services, provide event and advertising information and opportunities to participate, provide services based on demographic characteristics, insert advertisements and so forth.
GTK may communicate its publicity materials, public notices of events, information, etc., by email or mail, SNS, or other channels.
In addition, GTK may contact the data subject in question, using the latter’s personal information, for the purpose of promoting its goods or services, solicitation, etc.
2. Specific Items of the Personal Information to be Collected
GTK collects the following items of personal information for the purpose of membership applications, written forms, online and offline events, etc.:
Items of personal information: Name, company (or organization), position, cell phone number, email address, and access route
- Collection methods: Pre-registration/onsite registration, written forms, online and offline events, making inquiries to the Event Office (by phone or email)
3 Periods for the Retention and Use of Personal Information
① As the management agency for GTK, the Company processes and retains personal information within the periods for the retention and use of such personal information under applicable law or such periods for which the Company has obtained consent from the relevant data subject(s) at the time of collecting such personal information.
② The respective periods for the processing and retention of personal information are described below.
Such personal information is retained and used by the Company for the aforementioned purposes from the date of consent regarding the collection and use thereof till the date of.
Once the purpose of the collection and use of personal information has been achieved, the Company promptly destroys such personal information without delay.
Grounds for retention: Members’ consent
- Records concerning the handling of consumer dissatisfaction or disputes: three (3) years (pursuant to the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electric Commerce, Etc.)
- Records concerning the payment for and the supply of Goods, etc.: Five (5) years (pursuant to the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electric Commerce, Etc.)
- Records concerning contracts or revocation of subscription, etc.: Five (5) years (pursuant to the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electric Commerce, Etc.
4. Provision of Personal Information and Entrustment of the Handling of Personal Information to a Third Party
a. As the management agency for GTK, the Company shall use users’ personal information to the extent stated in the 「Personal information items collected and the purpose of using them」 but shall not use such personal information beyond the aforementioned extent without the prior consent of users nor shall in principle provide the same to any third party; except where:
① Users have given their consent in advance to the disclosure or provision thereof to a third party; or
② The Company is required by law or requested by any investigators or regulatory authorities for investigative purposes in accordance with the procedures and methods set forth in applicable law.
b. As the management agency for GTK, the Company may entrust a third party with the handling of personal information for proper and better services.
c. The personal information to be entrusted to such a third party shall be limited to the minimum amount necessary to provide proper services.
d. When entering into an entrustment agreement pursuant to applicable law, the Company sets forth therein the entrustee’s obligations related to compliance with the laws and regulations applicable to the protection of personal information; confidentiality of personal information; prohibition of the provision thereof to a third party; assumption of the liability for incidents; entrustment period; return or destruction of personal information following completion of the processing thereof, etc. and makes sure that such obligations will be fulfilled by the entrustee by all means, so that personal information will be managed in a safe manner.
5. Chief Privacy Officer
As the management agency for GTK, the Company does its best efforts to ensure that users will be able to use services in a safe and secure manner. Users may file with the Chief Privacy Officer or the department in charge of the Company all of their civil petitions concerning the protection of personal information with respect to the use of services. In such a case, the Company responds to users promptly and sincerely with respect to such civil petitions.
